Flip round, as a result of Bonnie Tyler’s 1983 basic, “Whole Eclipse of the Coronary heart” has reached one billion views on YouTube. The clip, filmed in England’s Holloway Sanatorium, is the Welsh artist’s first to succeed in the spectacular milestone.
Written and produced by Meat Loaf collaborator Jim Steinman, the monitor spent 4 weeks at No. 1 upon its launch — and far of its reputation was because of the music video. The risqué, academic-themed clip was directed by pioneer Russell Mulcahy, who had directed the primary video proven on MTV, The Buggles’ “Video Killed the Radio Star.” Tyler went on to launch yet one more prime 40 hit in 1984 with one other Steinman-produced reduce: the Footloose soundtrack single “Holding Out for a Hero.”
Again in 2017, throughout the complete photo voltaic eclipse, Tyler carried out the hit on a Royal Caribbean cruise with Joe Jonas’ DNCE as her backing band, simply because the eclipse reached its totality. That week, gross sales of “Whole Eclipse of the Coronary heart” had been up 500%.
