This may increasingly simply be considered one of my favourite enjoyable information about Bong Joon Ho and Snowpiercer.
In an interview with IndieWire, Bong spoke about how he and Weinstein clashed over one specific scene. As Weinstein wished to chop the film down, he was hellbent on slicing the scene during which a prepare guard guts a fish with a purpose to intimidate a bunch of rebels. This shot was a specific favourite of Bong’s and his cinematographer, Hong Kyung-pyo.

Bong later admitted to the press that “it was a f***king lie. My father was not a fisherman.”
