A employee at a well-liked vacationer attraction is fortunate to be alive after she was attacked by a saltwater crocodile.
The 34-year-old lady was working at Crocosaurus Cove in Darwin on April 29 when she was mauled by resident croc Leo.
It’s understood the lady was placing a plant in Leo’s enclosure when the saltwater crocodile attacked her.
She was rushed to hospital with minor accidents, with some employees saying the lady was fortunate to not lose a limb.
A spokesman from NT WorkSafe confirmed the incident and mentioned inquiries into how the lady was attacked are ingoing.
Inspectors are working to “confirm the data at hand” to find out an acceptable response.
“NT WorkSafe can affirm {that a} feminine employee was injured after she was bitten on the arm by a crocodile,” the spokesman mentioned.
“Attributable to affected person privateness, we’re unable to supply any additional particulars on the damage.
“As our inquiry is ongoing, no additional remark will probably be supplied.”
