The Q+A presenter introduced his departure from the ABC in a fiery column on the broadcaster’s web site on Friday.
ABC boss David Anderson has apologised to Q+A host Stan Grant, who introduced his departure from the broadcaster on Friday after a sustained marketing campaign of abuse mounted towards him over his commentary in the course of the ABC’s protection of the coronation of King Charles III.
In an e mail to employees late Sunday afternoon, Anderson maintained that Grant has “at all times had” the “full assist” of management on the ABC, at the same time as executives remained silent on the racist abuse levelled at him.
“Stan Grant has acknowledged that he has not felt publicly supported. For this, I apologise to Stan. The ABC endeavours to assist its employees within the unlucky moments when there may be exterior abuse directed at them,” Anderson wrote.
