Bloc Social gathering has confirmed the shock launch of their new EP, The Excessive Life EP, set to drop on July 21. After a busy yr touring with Paramore, the band is gearing up for a summer time of UK festivals and a four-track launch, symbolic of Bloc Social gathering’s subsequent chapter.
Earlier this month, the beloved and almost 25-year-old band launched the percussive, alt-rock title observe “Excessive Life,” infused with their signature upbeat funk, and “Maintain It Rolling” with Cleveland-born artist KennyHoopla.
“When we had been invited on the Paramore tour, we actually wished to get collectively and seize the place the band was at and share that music,” says frontman Kele Okereke. “To me, it is the sound of popping out of the wilderness and re-embracing life.”
The band’s final studio album Alpha Video games, is hailed as the wedding between post-punk with dance, showcasing the band’s fixed work-in-progress angle and fervour for experimenting with new sounds and genres. Okereke explains that their new EP will “provide a little bit bridge between Alpha Video games and what’s subsequent for the band.”
