Stick drift problem

I’ve 2 controllers each affected by extreme stick drift which is actaully not permitting me to play video games. Obtained this starfield controller and the stick drift on the left stick is insufferable and I can not use it anymore because it simply continually goes down even when I’m not touching it. How can I repair this with out taking it aside as I don’t belief myself to take action. Even have the usual controller and the identical is occurring with the proper stick how do I repair this as I can’t play and don’t wish to have to purchase a brand new one as these 2 are solely 8 months outdated
