Police have shot a lady who allegedly charged at officers with a kitchen knife after she was sprayed with capsicum spray.
Police have been referred to as to Penders Park in Thornbury, in Melbourne’s north, simply earlier than 3pm on Sunday following reviews a lady was brandishing a kitchen knife.
It’s understood police challenged the lady in her 50s to drop the knife earlier than they deployed capsicum spray.
Police fired a shot into her leg after she allegedly ran at officers whereas holding the knife.
The girl was arrested and brought to hospital with critical accidents to her thigh.
The incident can be investigated by the Armed Crime Squad with oversight from the Skilled Requirements Command, as protocol dictates when a police firearm is discharged.
