Marvel’s Wolverine has proved a big winner in terms physical sales in the UK, giving PlayStation its biggest disc-based launch of the year so far in the country.
Stacked against other consoles and games this year, the Insomniac Games-developed superhero title came in third place behind Resident Evil Requiem and 007 Legends. In addition, the launch of Marvel’s Wolverine in the UK was also there times larger than Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, which launched in June 2025. It was, however, “marginally lower” than Ghost of Yotei, and a 60% decline on what Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 achieved back in 2023.
“Marvel’s Wolverine is the No.3 biggest PS5 UK launch of 2026 (boxed sales). Behind Resident Evil and 007. But ahead of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced,” wrote The Game Business’ Christopher Dring.
Insomniac Games stated on launch day that it’s ‘cooking hard‘ in response to a number of complaints about Marvel’s Wolverine from critics. Sure enough, it released a patch a few days later that addressed one of the major criticism, namely the blue scent trail that guides Logan to his objectives.
