The Slayers 2 Permit Stamp is a small but important item to collect, and it’s the only barrier between you and the fishing feature. Well, that and the prerequisites you need to meet, which include reaching level 45 in Slayers 2. Fishing also grants an alternative way to obtain Lost Gear, though the drop chances are much lower than the Lost Boss.
Slayers 2 Permit Stamp
The Permit Stamp is an item that unlocks the ability to fish in Slayers 2. Without it, you can’t obtain your first fishing rod. Luckily, it’s not too hard to find, but you do need to meet a couple of requirements beforehand.
The first requirement is to reach at least level 45, and the second is to spend 5K Wen. Once you meet these prerequisites, you can head to Mistfall Harbor to visit Dock Master Sofen, who stands on the dock by the sea to the South of the Mistfall Harbor Shrine. After speaking with him, you unlock the quest to find the Permit Stamp.
If you haven’t unlocked the Mistfall Harbor Shrine yet, which requires 25K Wen, open the map and look for the Mistfall Harbor label, look for the Shrine to the right, and head in that direction to find the dock.
Permit Stamp Location
From where you’re standing when you speak to Dock Master Sofen, head straight across the water behind him. You can swim, of course, but if you dash mid-air, you can quickly get across. Head toward the fenced-off cliffs ahead, where you can see some wooden crates.
Once you land on the ground, walk over to the wooden crates to find the glowing Permit Stamp on top. Interact with it to pick the stamp up and revisit Sofen at the dock. Speak with him again to give him the Permit Stamp to complete the quest.
Unlocking Fishing
After completing the quest, you immediately obtain the Fishing Permit, which unlocks the fishing feature. You also get HP Potions and EXP as a reward; it’s a decent amount of EXP, too. Near Dock Master Sofen, you can find Fisherman Jeso. He lets you know how to acquire new fishing rods, and he also sells bait.
Fishing Rod Upgrades
The first two rods you can purchase are available on the dock. The Basic Fishing Rod can be obtained by spending Wen as soon as you get the Fishing Permit. For the next upgrade, you need to spend 10K Wen and catch 5 Golden Fish to purchase the Rare Fishing Rod. Bait-wise, Worm Bait costs 4 Wen, or you can opt for a Bait Bundle, costing 200 Wen. If you want other types of bait, you’ll have to visit Baitmonger Nori.
