PlayStation 6 Hardware Configuration Is Now Complete With Manufacturing Beginning Soon

According to a recent report from reliable insider KeplerL2, the hardware configuration of the upcoming next-generation console is complete and decided upon, which strongly points to a holiday 2027 launch.

The report from KeplerL2 shares that the PS6 is now ready for manufacturing. Much of the horsepower the console will have was also shared in this report.

It is rumored that the PlayStation 6 will have double the power of the PS5, and although it is thought to be slightly less powerful than the Xbox Helix console, that is understandable as Xbox is going for a PC hybrid model, so it’s bound to have more power.

The price of the console is also anticipated to sit around $900, if we are lucky and memory prices don’t get even worse over the next year. This price tag would make sense based on the cost of the PS5 Pro being the same.

It is also well known that a handheld device is launching alongside the PS6, which will be Sony’s first real return to the handheld market since the PS Vita.

It is also believed that the PlayStation 6 will launch with a cheaper model, possibly lower in power similar to this generation with the Xbox Series S. Sony will likely do anything they can to lower costs.

We know for a fact that long-time PlayStation architect, Mark Cerny, is once again leading development of the console after he was in charge of both the PS4 and PS5. It is quite possible his long and illustrious career will conclude with the PS6 launch, as recently he has shared his career is nearing an end.

As for the release date of the console, not even Sony has an exact date in mind, but all signs seem to be pointing towards a late 2027 launch.

The PS6 is certainly on its way, and gamers should expect to have their wallets ready for a high price tag when the console arrives. There is a lot riding on this gen for Sony, and the next-generation is inching closer each day.
