The 34-year-old’s wealthy and ethereal vocals soundtrack the video. It options her alongside Black Panther: Wakanda Endlessly movie crew members establishing scenes, together with her posing on the seashore at nightfall and photographs of billowing smoke, makeshift snow and a bonfire on the sand.
On the finish of the video, Rih poses with one of many crew members and makes an X throughout her chest along with her arms, the official salute from the Black Panther films.
“Elevate Me Up” — which serves as a tribute to the late Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020 at 43 after a battle with colon most cancers — sees the pop star going the ballad route, accompanied by an acoustic guitar as she sings “Elevate me up/ Maintain me down/ Hold me shut/ Protected and sound” on the refrain. The monitor was launched as the primary single from the Black Panther: Wakanda Endlessly soundtrack.
Following the Oct. 28 launch of “Elevate Me Up,” the monitor landed at No. 1 on Billboard’s relaunched Scorching Trending Songs chart, powered by Twitter and sponsored by Xfinity Cellular, dated Nov. 5.
Whereas extra new music from Rihanna remains to be TBD, the singer — who’s slated to headline subsequent 12 months’s Tremendous Bowl halftime present — has her followers excited for the return of her upcoming Savage x Fenty vogue present, which can arrive on Amazon Prime on Nov. 9.
