Lebanese actress Stephanie Saliba was detained on Friday following an interrogation over Central Financial institution Governor Riad Salameh’s corruption investigation.
Saliba appeared on the prosecutor’s workplace in Beirut on Friday for questioning, however Monetary Prosecutor Decide Ali Ibrahim ordered that she be taken into custody. The report didn’t state why she was arrested.
Decide Iman Abdallah, who was conducting an investigation, allegedly questioned Saliba about “illicit enrichment and cash laundering.”
Mount Lebanon Prosecutor Decide Ghada Aoun issued a search warrant for Saliba’s dwelling earlier this week as a part of her investigation of Salameh. She later issued an order to the actress to be introduced in for questioning concerning Salameh’s alleged cash laundering and embezzlement.
