Defence Minister Richard Marles says defence is supporting the joint AFP-ASIO counter-foreign interference job power, which is at the moment “investigating numerous circumstances”.
The Australian Defence Drive is investigating claims China is making an attempt to recruit Australian RAF pilots to coach its armed forces.
“The duty power that I’ve described is investigating numerous circumstances,” Mr Marles mentioned throughout a media convention on Wednesday.
“What we’re centered on proper now could be ensuring that we do study the insurance policies and the procedures which are at the moment in place, in respect of our former defence personnel, to ensure they’re sufficient.
“If they don’t seem to be, and if there are weaknesses in that system, then we’re completely dedicated to fixing that.”
