Benedict Cumberbatch is the most recent actor to leap on board director James Mangold’s Bob Dylan biopic, A Full Unknown. Cumberbatch joins the beforehand forged Timothée Chalamet (Dune) and Monica Barbaro (High Gun: Maverick), and Elle Fanning (Tremendous 8, The Neon Demon, The Nice).
The film facilities on a younger Bob Dylan (Chalamet), who “shakes up the music world in 1965, as he pivots to performing with an electrical guitar for the primary time.” Dylan “embraced rock n roll and traded his acoustic guitar for an amp and an electrical guitar,” which “created an enormous outcry.” However “it cemented the standing of rock music.”
Cumberbatch will tackle the function of Pete Seeger, the late folks legend, singer, and activist who met Dylan at a formative age and helped usher him into the folks scene. He might be nice in that function. Fanning will tackle the function of Dylan’s early ’60s love curiosity, college scholar and artist Sylvie Russo.
When speaking concerning the movie in an interview with Collider, Mangold stated: “It is such an incredible time in American tradition and the story of a younger, 19-year-old Bob Dylan coming to New York with like two {dollars} in his pocket. He added that the musician was “embraced into the household of people music in New York after which, in fact, sort of outrunning them at a sure level as his star rises so past perception.”
The script for the movie was written by Jay Cocks (Gangs of New York) with Mangold doing revisions on it. Dylan’s longtime supervisor Jeff Rosen is a producer on the movie.
