Bridgerton’s Bessie Carter reveals rare insight into A-list childhood

Bessie Carter is the daughter of appearing royalty. Born and raised in London, the actress grew up with powerhouse mother and father, Imelda Staunton and Jim Carter, within the prosperous district of West Hampstead.  

No stranger to the world of celeb, Bessie, 31, was already well-acquainted with a few of Hollywood’s most-coveted stars by the point she was a teen, having grown up with Oscar winner, Emma Thompson, for a neighbour, and Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry amongst her mother and father’ circle of pals.

For Bessie, questions on her well-known mother and father are a standard incidence. Again in 2024, the 31-year-old spoke with Kevin Sessums, the place she raved about her mum and pop. 

“I wasn’t conscious of my mother and father being well-known till my mother did Vera Drake and was nominated for an Oscar. That may have been about after I was 11 or 12. Till then, they had been simply actors. That was their job. It was simply regular,” defined Bessie.

What a deal with for 2025.”
