Former Brisbane Lions captain Dayne Zorko says an act by his teammate Noah Answerth was “not the way in which we need to win”.
Answerth mockingly wiped his eyes, gesturing that he was crying, in direction of Melbourne Demons participant Harrison Petty in the course of the last quarter of Brisbane’s 22-point win over Melbourne on Thursday evening.
It was an obvious repeat of an unsightly incident from 2022, when Petty was crying throughout a match following a sledge from Zorko.
The remark was reportedly a few member of the family of Petty, and it left the defender visibly upset on the time.
Zorko on the time mentioned his conduct was inappropriate and informed ABC Sport on Thursday that the crying gesture by Answerth was pointless.
“I will most likely go have a phrase to him, that is clearly not the way in which we need to win,” he mentioned.

Lions coach Chris Fagan and Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin each mentioned they have been unaware of the incident when requested throughout their post-match press conferences.
