The excellent news: DC’s Stargirl‘s Season 3/collection finale will supply “stunning closure,” says star Brec Bassinger.
The unhappy information? The Season 4 storyline would have been at least “insane”-ly good.
In a brand new clip (above) from the following episode of the Wayne Ayers Podcast (going out Wednesday, Nov. 16), Bassinger says that with so many adjustments happening at The CW and Warner Bros. Discovery, Stargirl showrunner Geoff Johns “went the additional mile and shot two completely different endings” for the finale, which was filmed in mid-March and airs Dec. 7, “as a result of he didn’t need to go away the followers with all these query marks.”
Bassinger says that the unused, cliffhanger-y ending would possibly wind up on a DVD set, and whereas she hopes that’s the case, she warns “it’ll make individuals unhappy as a result of the fourth-season concept was insane. Like, it could have been epic. And I really imagine that’s why it took so lengthy for us to formally get the cancellation information, as a result of Geoff got here in with such an exquisite concept…. However it wasn’t meant to be.”
Bassinger shared in a earlier podcast excerpt that she “discovered in Might that Stargirl won’t be picked up for a fourth season,” almost two months after filming on Season 3 wrapped. “I used to be really flying to an occasion for Stargirl once I obtained the information. However that being stated, it wasn’t for positive.”
As such, “The following few months… grew to become this emotional curler coaster of, ‘Yeah, I believe it’s going to get picked up’ or, ‘Oh, no, we’re pitching to a unique streaming service…,’” Bassinger stated. “It simply grew to become this emotional curler coaster.”
