Destroy Boys have introduced that they’ll observe 2021’s Open Mouth, Open Coronary heart with their fourth album, Funeral Soundtrack #4, on Aug. 9 through Hopeless Data (preorder).
As for why it’s referred to as that, guitarist Violet Mayugba says, “Wanting again, our first three albums marked the deaths of issues. The primary one was our highschool album. On the second report, we went to varsity and have been saying goodbye to our childhood. On the third one, we’d simply gone by means of COVID, and, talking for myself, I misplaced my total sense of self and gained a brand new one.”

Having made their final album with Will Yip, this one was produced by Carlos de la Garza (Paramore, the Linda Lindas, Finest Coast), and it features a tune that includes each Model Pussy and Scowl referred to as “You Hear Sure.” You might have observed that three songs from the album are already out — “Plucked,” “Beg For The Torture,” and “Shadow (I’m Breaking Down)” — and immediately they’ve launched a fourth, the album nearer “Boyfeel.” It’s a tune that vocalist/guitarist Alexia Roditis started writing again in 2017 at 17 years previous about their relationship with gender nonconformity, and the Tay Allard-directed video explores those self same themes.
