Filmmaker Phil Cooke says Disney hiring a black Pakistani lady who enjoys “making males uncomfortable” to direct the brand new Star Wars film reveals they’re “extra involved with making a social assertion than revenue.”
“They don’t appear that involved about revenue; they appear extra involved with making a social assertion,” Mr Cooke instructed Sky Information host James Macpherson.
“It’s not about being white or black or another race, it’s not about being homosexual or trans – it’s nearly this isn’t the place companies have to be going.
Mr Cooke’s feedback come as filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, recognized for guiding feminist documentaries, has been introduced because the director of the subsequent Star Wars movie.
Ms Obaid-Chinoy has beforehand gone on file saying she “enjoys making males uncomfortable” and making them realise “they should change the best way they suppose.”
