Electricité du Liban (EDL), Lebanon’s state-owned electrical energy firm, has prolonged the deadline for public establishments to pay their excellent electrical energy payments.
This resolution comes after a gathering involving the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance, and different key stakeholders.
The assembly aimed to seek out options for the overdue funds, which exceed $14 million for November and December 2022 alone. EDL warned that failure to settle these payments inside a month would lead to energy cuts.
The corporate emphasised that electrical energy is a commodity that should be paid for by all customers, together with public establishments, to take care of its monetary stability.
