Meta Platforms Inc., previously Fb, filed 5 trademark purposes for “Meta Pay” with the US Patent and Trademark Workplace (USPTO) final week.
Trademark legal professional Josh Gerben tweeted explaining Wednesday that, in his opinion, Meta’s purposes point out the corporate is planning to launch a cost platform known as Meta Pay for customers to alternate common fiat cash for cryptocurrencies.
Meta’s head of fintech, Stephane Kasriel, defined final week that the corporate is “investing extra” in its present funds experiences, noting that it has been in funds since 2009.
“Immediately, individuals and companies use our platforms to make funds in 160 international locations and 55 currencies,” Kasriel wrote, elaborating:
