The 1997 film Batman & Robin from director Joel Schumacher was a large number. The film was not memorable, not for something good anyway, and regardless of its star-studded ensemble, it fell flat for audiences and critics alike.
The movie starred Oscar-winner George Clooney in its lead position, which turned out to be his solely outing as Bruce Wayne/Batman. He was joined by Chris O’Donnell as Robin; Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy; Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl; Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze; in addition to Elle Macpherson and Vivica A. Fox.
However whereas it appeared like Schwarzenegger’s insane villain Dr. Victor Fries was within the movie alongside its heroes, he truly filmed all of his scenes alone.
/Movie stories that within the documentary “Shadows of the Bat: The Cinematic Saga of the Darkish Knight,” which was shot for the four-film “Movement Image Anthology” DVD set, Chris O’Donnell recalled the shoot:
“[I]’m in plenty of scenes with Mr. Freeze, I by no means labored a single day with Arnold. Not a single day. I used to be on the set with him quite a bit. I would hang around and discuss to him, I did plenty of publicity with him, however actually, that they had a double for him that was so good, and that go well with was so sophisticated and concerned to get on, that until Arnold was speaking in a scene, he wasn’t in that costume.”
Throughout a 2020 look on The Howard Stern Present, Clooney expressed amusement on the entire state of affairs, saying:
“[T]hey paid Arnold $25 million to be in it. They paid me, like, one. And we by no means even labored collectively, we by no means even noticed one another. It was … an enormous monster machine, and I simply kind of jumped in and did what they mentioned.”
It’s too unhealthy that with a solid like that, they weren’t in a position to make a greater movie. We’re fairly fortunate to have the caliber of superhero movies now we have at the moment.
