- Former GOP Rep. George Santos’ vacated Home seat was flipped to a Democrat in Tuesday’s election.
- Santos trolled the Republican Reps who supported his ouster, blaming them for dropping a GOP seat.
- Santos’ seat might be stuffed by Democrat Tom Suozzi, shrinking the Republican majority within the Home.
Former GOP Rep. George Santos maintained his wry humorousness on Tuesday, trolling his former colleagues on X after election outcomes indicated his former Home seat could be stuffed by a Democrat.
Santos’ former seat might be stuffed by Democrat Tom Suozzi, shrinking the skinny Republican majority within the Home. Suozzi defeated Republican Mazi Pilip within the race for the seat to characterize New York’s third congressional district.
“Hey Individuals! Please thank these two gems for dropping a seat in the home right this moment!” Santos posted alongside a photograph of GOP Reps. Nick LaLota and Anthony D’Esposito, who supported Santos’ ouster from the Home after he was charged with 23 complete counts related to alleged wire fraud, cash laundering, and identification theft.
Santos has pleaded not responsible to the costs.
“George Santos deserves to be in jail, not in Congress. He lied to voters, donors, and social gathering leaders to get thus far, committing quite a few acts of fraud,” LaLota mentioned in an October assertion, saying his introduction of a decision to expel Santos from the Home. “He has had loads of time to do the correct factor and resign. Since he hasn’t proven any ounce of integrity or an ethical compass, the one logical step is to expel him from Congress. New York and the Home might be higher off when he’s behind bars.”
An ethics report later discovered that Santos had deceived donors and misused political donations to his marketing campaign, spending donor funds on Botox, OnlyFans, and luxurious items from Hermes. He referred to as the report a political “smear.”
In a separate submit, Santos wrote merely “-1,” referring to the lost GOP seat.
