Synopsis: The 12 months is 1985 and Cucu “Gordita” Castelli (Olivia Goncalves) has simply stated goodbye to all of her family and friends in Santo Domingo and moved to Miami together with her advertising government father Víctor (Juan Javier Cardenas), daring and vivacious mom Adela (Diana Maria Riva), and out of the blue status-obsessed older sister Emilia (Savannah Nicole Ruiz). Whereas life in America is much from what they imagined, the Castellis are decided to take cost of their unusual new world. A uniquely humorous coming-of-age sequence, GORDITA CHRONICLES is about household, alternative, love, resilience, and boldly defying the established order in pursuit of the “American Dream.”
