Leroy Smith was a member of the African Crew jail gang within the UK in the course of the early 2000s.
Smith grew to become a success man and a drug supplier for the African Crew throughout his time as a class A inmate within the Full Sutton, Frankland, Lengthy Lartin, and Whitemoor high-security prisons. He speaks about serving 20 years in jail for the capturing of two Metropolitan Police constables in Brixton, South London, in the course of the early Nineteen Nineties.
Smith speaks with Enterprise Insider concerning the violence and weapons throughout the jail system. He talks about smuggling contraband, promoting medicine, and being a success man. He covers employees corruption, equivalent to guards accepting bribery, in addition to the position of some media shops in sensationalizing prison-gang tradition within the UK and selling the narrative of “Muslim gangs” in British jails.
After his launch from jail, Smith grew to become a mentor and a public speaker. He’s the CEO of the group charity Out of the Field and the creator of “Out of the Field: The Story of Leroy Smith.”
