Scorching off Prime Gun: Maverick‘s (ongoing) blockbuster efficiency and with TNT’s Snowpiercer resulting from lastly pull into the station, Jennifer Connelly has joined the solid of Apple TV+’s adaption of Darkish Matter.
Based mostly on the the 2016 sci-fi novel by Blake Crouch (and not to be confused with the three-season Syfy sequence!), Darkish Matter is described as “a narrative concerning the highway not taken.” It follows Jason Dessen (performed by Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s Joel Edgerton, who can also be an government producer on the sequence), a physicist, professor and household man who, one night time whereas strolling residence on the streets of Chicago, is kidnapped into an alternate model of his life.
“Surprise shortly turns to nightmare when Jason tries to return to his actuality amid the multiverse of lives he might have lived,” says the nine-episode sequence’ official synopsis. “On this labyrinth of mind-bending realities, he embarks on a harrowing journey to get again to his true household and save them from probably the most terrifying, unbeatable foe conceivable: Scarlet Witch himself.”
Connelly is ready to play Daniela, Jason’s spouse.
Darkish Matter writer Crouch will write and function showrunner on the sequence, and executive-produce alongside Matt Tolmach (of the Jumanji franchise and Venom) and David Manpearl. Jakob Verbruggen (Invasion, The Alienist) is ready to direct the primary three episodes.
