On the Joe Budden Podcast‘s “The Docket” (Episode 656), host Joe Budden provided his critique on Cardi B and Megan Stallion’s collaborative new single, “Bongos.” The 2 rap stars dropped their track on Friday (Sept. 8) and it has been receiving nice critiques from followers on social media.
On Joe’s “The Docket” episode, which you’ll pay attention on the 1:36 mark under, Joe stated the rap duo’s new single would not have “lasting energy.”
“The hook will not be hookin’ for me. There’s nothin’ in it to make it keep, one,” he defined. “And two…this commercialized ratchet has handed, it is ghetto ratchet time. And neither one among them are ghetto ratchet on this track.”
“We want a ‘Bodak Yellow’ now,” he continued. “This feels like two girls who cannot make a track.”
Joe additionally steered that Cardi and Megan work with their former writers and producers – like Megan’s ex Pardison Fontaine – to assist them ship a more energizing sound.
