Rolex has introduced the 2023-2024 program for the Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative to pair the world’s well-known artists with rising abilities from world wide.
Based in 2002, the Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative goals to go on the world’s creative heritage by pairing younger artists with established ones after which funding them for 2 years for his or her one-to-one collaborative work.
The 2023-2024 program will characteristic 5 of the world’s artists who will mentor rising abilities, together with El Anatsui in visible arts, Bernardine Evaristo in literature, Jia Zhang-Ke in movie, Anne Lacaton in structure, and Dianne Reeves in music.
One of many rising abilities chosen for Rolex’s Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative is the Lebanese-Armenian architect Arine Aprahamian, who was picked by the French architect Anne Lacaton.
The Lebanese-Armenian designer and researcher have a Bachelor’s diploma in Structure from the American College of Beirut (AUB).
Along with her progressive and sustainable imaginative and prescient for the longer term, Arine has co-founded the structure and design studio MÜLLER APRAHAMIAN in 2018.
With work in Beirut, London, and Yerevan, the studio has been engaged on progressive tasks with notable designers.
In 2019, she was additionally awarded the Fulbright scholarship and a Grasp’s diploma in structure from UC Berkeley.
