Indie horror fishing sport Dredge is getting a live-action film adaptation, developer Black Salt Video games has introduced.
The film will see Black Salt teaming up with manufacturing outfit Story Kitchen, which boasts luminaries like Sonic the Hedgehog producer Dan Jevons amongst its workers.
Per Selection, which in flip cites statements made by Black Salt and Story Kitchen, the Dredge film’s logline pitches it as “The Sixth Sense on the water”. It’s going to combine the cosmic horror sensibilities of H.P. Lovecraft with the grounded storytelling of Ernest Hemingway.
Black Salt says it is excited to convey the world of Dredge into the live-action sphere, and that it is partnering with an “skilled” film studio group so as to take action.
For its personal half, Story Kitchen says Dredge is “captivatingly eerie and profoundly wealthy”, and that the sport had the Story Kitchen group “hooked from the very starting”.
