Olympia, Washington-born, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Malice Ok signed to Jagjaguwar (Angel Olsen, Bon Iver) this previous fall alongside the discharge of his single “PHD,” and right now he releases his second single for the label, “Radio.” Like “PHD,” it was co-produced by Isaac Eiger of the now-defunct Unusual Ranger, and it finds him singing with a somber, Elliott Smith-like croon over mild acoustic guitars and luscious strings.
“‘Radio’ is about feeling helpless fucked up,” Malice Ok says. “Not figuring out wether you’re simply fucked up or perhaps you must do one thing about it.” Pay attention and watch the Johann Rashid-directed video beneath, and take a look at the “PHD” video beneath as nicely in case you haven’t already.
