A person has been arrested and charged with sexual assault after allegedly attacking a girl by means of a park in Melbourne’s Albert Park.
The 42-year-old allegedly bodily and sexually assaulted a girl, who he approached as she sat on the embankment at Albert Park Lake about 11.15pm final night time.
The girl was in a position to run from the alleged attacker, who then chased her by means of the park till she was assisted by a member of the general public.
St Kilda Police have been in a position to observe the person down, and arrested him close by. Police say the person lives in Prahran and was on bail for a unique offence.
The 42-year-old has been charged with sexual assault, sexual assault by compelling sexual touching, assault with intent to commit a sexual assault, widespread legislation assault and commit an indictable offence while on bail.
He stays in jail, and is about to look within the Melbourne Magistrates’ Courtroom at the moment.
