Maria Shriver opens up about Arnold Schwarzenegger in new book

Maria Shriver has opened up about her “brutal” divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Shriver was married to the actor and former Governor of California from 1989 to 2021.

She filed for divorce in 2011.

In an excerpt from her new poetry e book, I Am Maria, obtained by Individuals, Shriver stated the tip of her 25-year marriage was a “devastating, life-altering blow”.

“My twenty-five-year-long marriage blew up. It broke my coronary heart, it broke my spirit, it broke what was left of me,” she wrote.

Shriver defined how her marriage was one other hit after shedding each her dad and mom and ending up her eight years because the First Girl of California.

“With out my marriage, my dad and mom, a job – the dam of my lifelong capital-D Denial simply blew aside,” she admitted.

The star stated she was “consumed with grief and wracked with confusion, anger, concern, disappointment, and anxiousness.”

“I used to be uncertain now of who I used to be, the place I belonged. Truthfully, it was brutal, and I used to be terrified.”

The previous couple share 4 kids collectively: sons Patrick and Christopher, and daughters Katherine and Christina.

Shriver acknowledged her kids’s “grace, valor, and braveness my kids” amid their dad and mom’ divorce. 

“We’re persevering with to guardian our 4 kids collectively. They’re the sunshine and heart of each of our lives,” Shriver and Schwarzenegger wrote in a joint assertion on the time.

Shriver cited “irreconcilable variations” when she filed for divorce.
