Mark McGowan stepping down as Western Australian Premier “hurts” Labor’s federal election marketing campaign, says Sky Information Political Editor Andrew Clennell.
Mr Clennell stated Labor picked up 5 seats within the final federal election and have a majority within the parliament of three.
“The probabilities of the Liberals snatching again a few of these 5 are better right now, there’s completely little question about it,” he stated.
“There was a private vote for Mark McGowan, many conventional Liberal voters and supporters voted as a result of it was McGowan greater than it was Labor and a few of them took that vote federally.”
“I feel it hurts Labor’s federal election marketing campaign – we’re a great distance off … however when you have been enthusiastic about a federal Liberal tilt in WA now … you’d really feel higher right now than you probably did yesterday.”
