Matt Stewart, Trumpet Player in Streetlight Manifesto, Dies at 41

Matt Stewart, the longtime trumpet participant within the ska punk band Streetlight Manifesto, died on the age of 41 on Sunday (Sept. 10), the band has confirmed. The group stated he died of pure causes.

Tributes to the late musician have began pouring in, as BrooklynVegan confirmed. Stewart had been in Streetlight Manifesto, the Tomas Kalnoky-led act based in early-2000s New Jersey, for the previous 16 years. And from the tributes, it is clear that Stewart had a constructive affect on many within the scene.

He was 41 years previous.”

The band stated Stewart “usually had a stranger with him. Stewart seems on Streetlight Manifesto’s three newest albums — 2013’s The Fingers That Thieve, 2010’s 99 Songs of Revolution: Vol 1, and 2007’s Someplace within the Between. He joined the band in 2007, supplanting Delano Bonner, who had changed the act’s unique trumpeter, Jamie Egan.
