The Canadian crooner’s vacation basic lifts 3-1, for its fifth non-consecutive week on the summit. Christmas first led the Official U.Okay. Albums Chart following its launch in 2011, and final reached the highest in December 2021.
With Christmas within the rearview, vacation albums are having fun with combined fortunes. On the best way down are Cliff Richard’s Christmas With Cliff (2-12 through EastWest/Rhino), the Bocellis’ A Household Christmas (5-20 through Decca), and Andre Rieu & Johann Strauss Orchestra’s Silver Bells (7-36 through Decca), whereas the late Bing Crosby bucks the pattern with Christmas Classics (UMC/Virgin), up 91-27.
Within the absence of any new releases, hits collections determine prominently on the most recent survey, printed Friday, Dec. 30.
Among the many best-sellers are Elton John’s Diamonds (Mercury/UMC), up 14-5; and the Weeknd’s The Highlights (Republic Data/XO), which lifts 12-7 following the discharge of his Avatar 2: The Approach of Water soundtrack single, “Nothing Is Misplaced (You Give Me Energy).”
Additionally climbing are Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours (up 13-8 through Rhino/Warner Bros) and 50 Years – Don’t Cease (up 25-15 through Rhino); Eminem’s Curtain Name – The Hits (up 18-11 through Interscope); ABBA’s Gold – Best Hits (up 20-13 through Polydor in its 1,078th week on the chart, a report); the U.Okay.’s top-selling album of all time, Queen’s Best Hits (up 23-16 through EMI); Oasis’ Time Flies – 1994-2009 (up 38-23 through Large Brother), Elvis Presley’s Elv1s – 30 Number one Hits (up 60-31 through BMG) and George Michael’s Twenty 5 (up 74-40 through Aegean).
