With the unhappy information about Ray Liotta, I assumed I might suggest certainly one of my favorite movies of his, Narc, from 2002.
Narc takes up the mantle from the sooner Coaching Day, perhaps somewhat too intently although no unhealthy factor, as against the law thriller following the Liotta lead of previous veteran and younger cop duo, the undercurrent of a corrupt thread inside it.
The place Coaching Day has the stylised California vibes of palm timber and sunsets although, Narc is an altogether extra stone chilly, gritty, unforgiving journey, reflecting off its Detroit winter backdrop, harsh dim mild and visual breaths snapping out with each line of dialogue. Its a smaller, intimate affair, and whereas could not have that bigger than life charismatic caricature from Denzel Washington, its close-quarters nature permits for a robust lead efficiency from Ray Liotta.
Narc is hardly obscure, however does go underneath the radar. I believe a must-see for any fan of the crime thriller, pertaining to neo-noir, who hasnt but dug deep sufficient to come back throughout it.
