NATO opened its summit Tuesday with contemporary momentum after Turkey withdrew its objections to Sweden becoming a member of the alliance, a step towards the unity that Western leaders have been desperate to reveal within the face of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The choice by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is a major transfer towards Sweden’s membership and it’ll alleviate rigidity in Vilnius, Lithuania’s capital.
