Netflix has revealed the total title in addition to a number of pictures from its upcoming Luther follow-up film.
Luther, starring Idris Elba because the titular DCI, ran for 5 complete seasons from 2010 to 2019, airing Stateside right here on BBC America.
Luther: The Fallen Solar, because the Netflix film has been titled, is described as “an epic continuation” of the TV sequence “reimagined for movie.”
Penned by Neil Cross, directed by James Payne and earmarked for a March 2023 launch, Luther: The Fallen Solar finds a grotesque serial killer terrorizing London whereas the “good however disgraced” detective John Luther sits behind bars.
“Haunted by his failure to seize the cyber psychopath who now taunts him, Luther decides to interrupt out of jail to complete the job by any means obligatory,” the synopsis tells us.
The film’s forged additionally contains Academy Award and Emmy nominee Cynthia Erivo (as a detective who can also be Luther’s nemesis), Andy Serkis (as a legal villain) and Dermot Crowley, who reprises his sequence function as Martin Schenk.
