In case you haven’t been dwelling beneath a rock, Ksarak (the superbly named Arak from Chateau Ksara) had an iconic advert (which you’ll nonetheless see right here). The advert had the best price range on the time and in some ways helped usher the Lebanese promoting business intro new grounds. But additionally, it had a jingle/music from Mansour Rahbani. Simply to be clear, the brother within the household who specialised in adverts/jingles was Elias producing such unimaginable specimen reminiscent of Picon, Re-O-Vac, Tatra, Nido (sure, that Nido advert!) or the Barilla masterpiece (which had a curious double life as I spoke of right here). So for the good Mansour to do an advert jingle was a rarity.
Nonetheless, Mansour (RIP) was really generally known as one-half of the duo “Rahbani Brothers”, the opposite half being the late incomparable Assi (who died in 1986). However here is a small unknown story: the 2 brothers really composed a jingle (which sadly I shouldn’t have in my archive), lengthy, way back for the electronics model Zanussi. The jingle in query went:
زانوسي زانوسي بالدار بيرقصلي
Zanussi, Zanussi dances for me within the salon.
The explanation this analogy was used is as a result of outdated fridges used to provide an important “shaking” hum each time their generator would work.
So, whereas Ksarak is certainly a masterpiece – there was a precedent.
