Academy Award winner Patricia Arquette (Boyhood, The Act) has signed on to star within the untitled Hulu restricted collection that may inform the story of the notorious Murdaugh Murders, from co-creator and showrunner Michael D. Fuller (Quarry, Rectify) and co-creator Erin Lee Carr (Britney vs Spears, I Love You, Now Die).
The collection tells the story of Maggie and Alex Murdaugh’s “stranger-than-fiction household drama, a riveting account drawing from numerous hours of reporting by Mandy Matney – journalist and creator of the favored Murdaugh Murders Podcast – in addition to unique, insider information from years spent following the case,” says a launch from the streamer.
Arquette will star as Maggie Murdaugh, a spouse and mom whose husband Alex Murdaugh was convicted of her homicide and that of their son Paul. The patriarch is at present serving two consecutive life sentences with out the potential for parole. His try to get a brand new trial was denied in January.
The challenge reunites Arquette with Eat the Cat Productions, Hulu and UCP following their collaboration on the restricted collection The Act, for which Arquette obtained the Emmy Award for Excellent Supporting Actress.
Arquette’s upcoming tasks embrace The Final Disturbance of Madeline Hynde, reverse Jodie Comer and directed by Kenneth Branagh, and They Will Kill You, reverse Zazie Beetz.
