What is it? Age of Strategy is a 2D turned based strategy game. (As the name implies, duh) In this game you are able to choose between many civilization, each civilizations have unique troops. There are many buildings and technologies that may be required before training certain troops. As you progress you can earn gems, which can be used to unlock more upgrades in the game's upgrade tree. How a normal game would probably look like My personal experience I first started playing the game a few years ago on my android phone. I played a lot of single player, because it did not require wifi. I stopped playing after I switched to an iphone due to incompatibilities. I came back just a few days ago and I was shocked that a version of the game was actually released on ios. So yeah, theres that. Singleplayer /Offline Play There are numerous amounts of senarios, maps and even historical battles in the single player mode of this game. Some battles are large, and some are small. Typically larger battles may take up to two hours to complete while smaller battles can take less than 15 minutes. This will be your main source of gems when it comes to unlocking upgrades. Multiplayer Although it does not have hundreds of players playing every day, you will still have enough active players to find a game or two. The games are not real time, so you don't have to worry about not being able to finish a game. Instead, they are "offline multiplayer" each player must make their move within 24 hours. Attacking Strategies Each unit has it's advantages and disvantages. To use them effectively you must change and adapt on which units you should attack and which units you should avoid. Refer to image attatched to see which units counter each other. The "Cycle" of life Upgrade tree There are many upgrades in the game, some of these upgrades unlock buildings, some unlock troops and technologies. Upgrades are a essential part of the game as it allows for more freedom and possibilities. Each civilization has unique troops. With that you will need unique buildings and technologies to train them. Some of the units you can unlock Turn based system Every turn you have you will have the chance to do many things. Moving and attacking with your units, produce troops and invent technologies. Your builders are also affected, every turn they can build once. After you are done with your actions you will end the turn, and your enemy will play. Conclusion I really enjoy this game, the sheer amount of content and play time for a free game is amazing. Not to mention there are many other versions of the game the developer has made. Sadly those versions aren't on ios yet. The currency isn't much of a grind, but not as much where you can spend on every thing you want. This game is perfect for long car rides or plane trips as it doesn't require wifi to play.
