Russell Crowe has cleared up current media reviews declaring he and girlfriend Britney Theriot had eloped in Rome – and the actor has confirmed that no, they don’t seem to be married.
And 2Day FM’s Hughesy, Ed & Erin breakfast present obtained the inside track this morning, with presenter Erin Molan personally texting Crowe through the present to congratulate him on his marriage.
It appeared Crowe hadn’t heard his personal pleased information – as a result of Molan reported that his preliminary reply was merely a query mark.
“Hughesy simply informed me you married Brit?” she replied. “Let me guess, he’s learn one thing and believed it?”
“That is horrific for me and my ongoing relationship with Russell,” Hughes quipped, accusing his colleague of throwing him beneath the bus.
Crowe then wrote again: “Yeah, good guess. We aren’t married.”
The false report first emerged on this week’s New Concept, which declared that “Romantic Rusty” had “eloped in Rome”.
“Insiders suspect love-struck Russell has taken the following step along with his companion of two years and married her in Italy!” the tabloid magazine proclaimed – which was then breathlessly reported by the Every day Mail yesterday.
Hughes joked he couldn’t imagine the story was false, given it began in New Concept.
“New Concept obtained one thing incorrect? Perhaps Russell’s mendacity – New Concept don’t get one thing incorrect,” stated Molan.
“They’re going to have to return to all these service stations, seize all these magazines, and pulp them – certainly,” stated Hughes.
So no wedding ceremony bells but, however Crowe’s relationship with US actor-turned-real property agent Theriot seems to be going from energy to energy.
Crowe, 58, made his crimson carpet debut with Theriot, 39, on the premiere of his newest filmPoker Face in Rome final month. The normally non-public pair first sparked romance rumours after they had been seen kissing in November 2020.
Crowe was beforehand married to Australian actress and singer Danielle Spencer from 2003 to 2012. The previous couple share two sons collectively: Charles, 18, and Tennyson, 16.
