A scuba diver has drowned after they have been discovered unconscious within the water close to Rye Pier on Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsula.
Emergency providers have been known as to the waterside at about 10am this morning.
Police stated the person was positioned unconscious within the water by different scuba divers.
The diver was pulled onto the pier whereas the opposite divers tried to carry out CPR.
When emergency providers arrived on the scene, they continued their makes an attempt to revive the diver.
Sadly the person died on the scene. He’s but to be formally recognized.
Police will examine the precise circumstances across the incident and put together a report for the coroner.
The dying follows the drowning of a household of 4 close to Phillip Island in late January, the worst Victorian drowning occasion in nearly 20 years.
