North Korean hackers have allegedly stolen South Korean microchip manufacturing know-how secrets and techniques, prompting the Nationwide Intelligence Service (NIS) in Seoul to name for higher cyber defenses.
Stories say the NIS accused North Korean cybercrime teams of compromising the servers of two separate (to this point unnamed) microchip producers in South Korea and stealing semiconductor designs and facility pictures.
“We imagine that North Korea may probably be getting ready to supply its personal semiconductors within the face of difficulties in procuring them as a result of sanctions,” the NIS reportedly mentioned in a press release.
