Though the annual Halloween retailer is usually the butt of jokes concerning retailer closings — Spirit Halloween shops usually pop up within the defunct retail areas of different retailers which have since shuttered — the corporate clapped again after Saturday Night time Reside poked enjoyable at them in a sketch.
Within the Season 50 premiere that aired Sept. 28, a faux industrial poked enjoyable on the retailer for “serving to our struggling communities by organising store in each vacant constructing within the nation.”
The skit joked that Spirit Halloween shops typically seem in “a condemned AutoZone the place a homicide occurred” and supply clients with “wigs that offer you a rash.”
The parody confirmed a younger buyer asking for a Taylor Swift costume and receiving one labeled “blonde singing lady.”
SNL even went so far as to make enjoyable of staff, saying the Halloween retailer offers jobs for “a few of America’s hardest hit perverts.”

Spirit Halloween fired again on the sketch comedy present through social media.
On X (previously Twitter), the retail chain posted a mock costume for SNL known as an “Irrelevant 50-12 months-Previous TV Present.”
