In awkward scenes this morning, former Liberal MP Tim Wilson insisted on enjoying the Final Put up on the Shrine of Remembrance daybreak service, after what he describes as a ‘mix-up’ with the appointed bugle participant.
“I regarded round, assumed that no-one had turned as much as play the Final Put up, and selflessly manhandled the bugle away from a random man standing subsequent to me, so I might carry out the essential activity on behalf of the neighborhood,” Wilson – who misplaced the seat of Goldstein on the final election – defined.
“There’s no means I might have recognized that the person carrying full navy uniform and holding a bugle had been appointed to play the music. It’s clear that the hundreds of voters – sorry, members of the neighborhood – who had been assembled there, wished me to play”.
In the long run the 2 males collectively held the bugle whereas Wilson performed.
