The way forward for Toys for Bob is unsure after the closure of its studio in Novato, California, a part of the fallout from Xbox’s current Activision Blizzard acquisition that has resulted in roughly 1900 layoffs.
The San Francisco Chronicle experiences that 86 employees have been laid off from the studio best-known for Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Skylanders. Name of Responsibility developer Sledgehammer Video games was equally impacted, shedding some 76 workers. The closures had been found through official state filings.
The Activision Blizzard layoffs had been introduced on the finish of January as Xbox has sought to restructure the corporate following its $69 billion acquisition. The cuts included the departure of former Blizzard president Mike Ybarra in addition to the cancellation of a survival recreation in growth at Blizzard.
It is unclear whether or not what influence these modifications can have on the long-term way forward for Toys for Bob. Quite a few publishers throughout the video games business have been shedding workers and shuttering amenities as they give attention to distant work. IGN has reached out to Activision for remark.
