Ubisoft has introduced that one more studio is becoming a member of the long-awaited (and apparently reasonably troubled) Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake.
This time round (no pun meant), it is the flip of Ubisoft Toronto, the studio accountable for making 2020’s Watch Canines: Legion and 2021’s Far Cry 6, in addition to the upcoming Splinter Cell remake.
Ubisoft Toronto says it is “excited to rewind time” and produce its “creativity, experience and up to date tech” to the venture, which is already being labored on by former Prince of Persia studio Ubisoft Montreal.
The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake was initially introduced all the best way again in September 2020 and was given a January 2021 launch date, which appears virtually hilariously quaint in hindsight.
Clearly, that date was subsequently delayed in late 2020, with Ubisoft claiming at that time that the sport would launch in March 2021. Once more, we will look again on that date and snort.
In February 2021, Sands of Time was once more delayed, though this time it wasn’t given a brand new launch date, with Ubisoft as an alternative saying that the sport would launch on “a later date” in order to make sure that the remake could be “the very best recreation attainable”.
Since then, we have not heard a lot from the venture, though it has been delayed quite a few instances within the interim.
Initially, the Sands of Time remake was being led by the India-based studios Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune, however Ubisoft introduced that improvement had shifted to authentic Sands of Time studio Ubisoft Montreal in Could 2022.
Now, it appears to be like like Toronto has been introduced on to assist. Will these two Ubisoft studios be the ultimate custodians of the Sands of Time remake? Solely time will inform.
When you’re hankering for a Prince of Persia repair, although, two different reasonably good franchise tasks have been launched within the intervening years: Metroidvania The Misplaced Crown and roguelite platformer The Rogue Prince of Persia. They’re each properly value testing.
