Uber has modernised the Australian industrial relations system for a “fashionable kind of labor”, says Uber ANZ Basic Supervisor of Rides Dominic Taylor.
Mr Taylor’s feedback come because the Senate handed new IR adjustments which can see informal employees ultimately have the flexibility to transform to everlasting work.
Surroundings Minister Tanya Plibersek claimed these measures are on account of informal and gig economic system employees being “exploited”, however Mr Taylor disagreed with the minister’s sentiment.
“I spend time each week with Uber drivers and supply companions and the story they inform me is that they find it irresistible,” he instructed Sky Information Enterprise Editor Ross Greenwood.
“In the beginning of the federal reform bundle, I sat down with many drivers and supply companions, and I requested them ‘what would you like out of this modification’?
“The primary factor they mentioned was ‘don’t lose the flexibleness we love’.
“Right this moment – mark my phrase – is a vital day within the Australian historical past for gig employees.”
