The Maltese department held its first committee assembly on 4 February 1959, after founding member John Carlisle wrote to Matt Busby looking for his permission to type a bunch. It was, after all, virtually precisely a 12 months after the Munich Air Catastrophe, by which 23 lives have been misplaced, together with these of eight United gamers and three members of membership employees.
“Our supporters’ membership began after the tragedy of Munich,” acknowledges Joseph Tedesco, the present president of our MUSC in Malta, in the course of the podcast.
“Many individuals thought it was the tip [of United]. Truly,that horrible day, 6 February 1958, was the start of so many issues. A type of issues was our supporters’ membership which has now been occurring for 65 years.”
